What Kiri's AI Does

Kiri uses AI to generate personalized guidance based on data you log about your child, including sleep, feeding, growth, and development. See Section 2.

What It Does Not Do

AI-generated outputs are informational only. Kiri’s AI does not diagnose, prescribe, or replace your child’s pediatrician. See Section 3.

Guidance vs Medical Advice

There is a legally significant difference between “guidance” and “medical advice.” Kiri provides the former only. See Section 4.

AI outputs may be incomplete or inaccurate. Kiri expressly disclaims all liability for reliance on AI-generated content for any healthcare decision. See Section 5.

  1. Purpose and Scope

IN PLAIN ENGLISH

Kiri has a separate Privacy Policy that covers your data rights in detail. This document is focused on a different question: what does the AI actually do, what are its limits, and what does it mean legally when Kiri gives you “guidance”? Those are important distinctions and we want to be clear about them.

This Artificial Intelligence Use Policy (“Policy”) is published by Presence Health, Inc., d/b/a Kiri (“Kiri,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) to describe how artificial intelligence and automated processing technologies are used within the Kiri mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

This Policy should be read in conjunction with Kiri’s Privacy Policy, which governs data collection, processing, third-party providers, security practices, data retention, and user rights. Where a matter is addressed in both documents, the Privacy Policy governs with respect to data handling. This Policy governs the scope and limitations of Kiri’s AI functionality.

This Policy applies to all users of the Services, including parents, legal guardians, and authorized caregivers who access AI-assisted features on behalf of their children.

  1. AI Features and Functionality

IN PLAIN ENGLISH

Kiri reads the data you’ve entered — like how long your baby slept or how much they ate — and uses AI to help you see patterns and get answers to your questions. It’s designed to help you feel more informed, not to replace the advice your pediatrician gives you.

2.1 What Kiri's AI Does

Kiri incorporates artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing technologies to deliver personalized guidance features within the Services. Specifically, Kiri’s AI is designed to:

  • Process and analyze health and developmental data you log, including sleep schedules, feeding records, growth metrics, symptom observations, and behavioral notes

  • Generate summaries, trend analyses, and pattern identifications based on your child’s logged data over time

  • Respond to questions you submit regarding your child’s health, development, and care, drawing on your child’s profile and publicly available pediatric knowledge sources

  • Surface observations and potential areas of interest for caregiver awareness, including changes in patterns that may warrant attention

  • Assist you in organizing information that may be useful in conversations with your child’s healthcare provider

2.2 How AI Is Integrated

AI features are embedded throughout the Services and operate when you interact with Kiri’s AI Specialists, request summaries or trend reports, or submit questions about your child’s data. AI-generated content is labeled or presented in a manner intended to distinguish it from static informational content. All AI outputs are generated in real time in response to your interactions and the current state of your child’s logged data.

Kiri does not use fully automated decision-making to produce outputs that have legal or similarly significant effects on users. All AI-generated outputs are designed to inform caregiver awareness only. See Section 5.4 of the Privacy Policy for further detail on automated processing limitations.

  1. What Kiri's AI Does Not Do

The following limitations are definitional and material to the scope of the Services. Users must not interpret Kiri’s AI outputs as extending beyond these limitations under any circumstances.

IN PLAIN ENGLISH

Kiri’s AI is a knowledgeable resource, not a doctor. It can help you understand patterns and feel more prepared — but it cannot tell you what’s wrong with your child, what medicine to give, or what to do in an urgent situation. For any real medical concern, your pediatrician is always the right call.

3.1 No Diagnosis

Kiri’s AI does not diagnose medical conditions, developmental disorders, illnesses, or any other health-related condition in any child or individual. AI-generated outputs that reference symptoms, patterns, or observations are descriptive and informational only. They do not constitute a clinical assessment or differential diagnosis.

3.2 No Prescribing or Treatment Recommendations

Kiri’s AI does not recommend, prescribe, or endorse any medication, supplement, dosage, clinical treatment, therapeutic intervention, or course of action with respect to any medical condition. Any references to general wellness practices or commonly accepted pediatric guidance in AI outputs do not constitute individualized medical recommendations.

3.3 No Clinical Relationship

Use of the Services, including use of AI features, does not establish a physician-patient relationship, a nurse-patient relationship, or any other professional healthcare relationship between the user and Kiri, Kiri’s personnel, or any third-party provider engaged by Kiri.

3.4 No Emergency Services

Kiri is not an emergency service and is not designed or equipped to respond to medical emergencies. If you believe your child is experiencing a medical emergency, you must call 911 or your local emergency services immediately. You must not use Kiri’s AI features in lieu of seeking emergency care.

3.5 No Clinical Decision Support

Kiri is not a clinical decision support system as defined under applicable federal or state law, including guidance issued by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Kiri is not a medical device and has not been cleared or approved by the FDA for any diagnostic or therapeutic purpose.

  1. Guidance vs. Medical Advice, Legal Distinction

IN PLAIN ENGLISH

When a doctor gives you advice, they’re doing so under a professional license and are legally responsible for that advice. Kiri is providing information — helpful, personalized information based on your data — but it’s not the same thing. Think of it like a well-informed resource rather than a professional consultation.

The distinction between “guidance” and “medical advice” carries legal significance that users of the Services should understand.

“Medical advice,” as that term is used in applicable law, generally refers to the provision of professional opinion or recommendation by a licensed healthcare practitioner in the context of a clinical relationship, based on individualized assessment of a patient’s specific condition. The provision of medical advice is a regulated activity subject to state licensing requirements and professional liability standards.

All AI-generated outputs provided through the Services constitute “guidance” — that is, informational and educational content intended to support caregiver awareness and decision-making. Such outputs:

  • Are not individualized professional recommendations based on clinical evaluation

  • Are not rendered by a licensed healthcare provider in the course of a clinical relationship

  • Are not intended to substitute for, and should not be used in place of, consultation with a licensed physician, pediatrician, nurse practitioner, or other qualified healthcare professional

  • Do not create any professional duty of care owed by Kiri to the user or the user’s child

In accordance with California Assembly Bill 489 (effective January 1, 2026), Kiri expressly acknowledges that neither the Kiri platform nor its developers are licensed or certified to diagnose, treat, cure, or practice with respect to any physical or mental health condition. No output of the Services should be construed as implying such licensure or certification.

  1. Material Limitations and Disclaimers

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING AI-GENERATED OUTPUTS

All AI-generated outputs provided through the Services are informational only and do not constitute medical advice, clinical diagnosis, prognosis, or treatment recommendations of any kind. Do not make healthcare decisions based solely on information generated by the Services. Always consult a qualified, licensed healthcare professional regarding any concern about your child’s health, development, or well-being.

5.1 Accuracy and Completeness

AI-generated outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or inapplicable to your child’s specific health circumstances. The AI operates on the data you have provided; it cannot account for information not entered into the Services, cannot physically examine your child, and does not have access to your child’s full medical history unless you have entered such information manually. AI outputs are probabilistic, not deterministic, and may not reflect the most current clinical guidance.

5.2 No Substitute for Professional Care

No AI-generated output should be used as a substitute for professional consultation with a licensed physician, pediatrician, nurse practitioner, or other qualified healthcare professional. If you have a specific concern about your child’s health, you should contact your child’s healthcare provider promptly.

5.3 Disclaimer of Liability

KIRI EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL LIABILITY ARISING FROM ANY RELIANCE ON AI-GENERATED OR AUTOMATED OUTPUTS IN CONNECTION WITH ANY HEALTHCARE DECISION, TREATMENT CHOICE, OR COURSE OF ACTION. THE SERVICES, INCLUDING ALL AI-GENERATED OUTPUTS, INSIGHTS, SUMMARIES, AND INFORMATIONAL CONTENT, ARE PROVIDED FOR TRACKING AND INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. NOTHING IN THE SERVICES CONSTITUTES, OR IS INTENDED TO CONSTITUTE, PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL ADVICE, CLINICAL DIAGNOSIS, PROGNOSIS, OR TREATMENT RECOMMENDATIONS. YOUR USE OF AI FEATURES DOES NOT ESTABLISH A PHYSICIAN-PATIENT RELATIONSHIP OR ANY OTHER PROFESSIONAL HEALTHCARE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN YOU AND KIRI.

For the full limitation of liability and warranty disclaimer applicable to the Services, including AI features, please refer to Section 14 of the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference.

5.4 Potential for Bias and Error

AI models may reflect biases present in the data on which they were trained and may produce outputs that are not equally applicable to all individuals, populations, or health circumstances. Kiri works to identify and mitigate bias in its AI systems but cannot guarantee that outputs will be free from inaccuracy, omission, or the effects of underlying model limitations. Users are encouraged to apply independent judgment and to consult qualified professionals when making decisions about their child’s health.

  1. Data Practices, Relationship to Privacy Policy

The collection, processing, storage, sharing, and protection of data used in connection with Kiri’s AI features is governed by Kiri’s Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into this Policy by reference and available within the App and at www.saykiri.com.
